Rockingham Campus, Murdoch
Located 45 kms south of Perth, Rockingham combines modern infrastructure with natural marine and aquatic services provided by western Australia’s coastline. The Rockingham campus was established in 1996 and has since then provided avenues of education for south coastal communities. The campus’ flexible study options allows its students to study either full-time, part-time or online. The Community Library also ensures that its users will meet all their study needs.

On-campus housing is made available by the university through the Murdoch University Village. They provided 24-hour support for residents as well as a team of Resident Assistants. Security is ensured through swipe cards that access the common rooms and lockable bedrooms. Residents are given the privilege to use facilities such as pools, e-library and study places, high-speed internet and a BBQ zone.

Rockingham is a suburb south-west of Perth’s city center and is bound beaches and various maritime facilities. The suburb got its name from one of the ships that were used by Thomas Peel in order to transport settlers to Western Australia. Now, it is one of Australia’s fastest-growing residential districts. One of the sites to see in Rockingham is the Catalpa Memorial, built to commemorate famous escape of six Irish prisoners from the Fremantle Prison.
