About Sandy Bay
Located at the immediate south of the central business district, Sandy Bay houses many large homes as well as various university campuses. Its proximity to the beach also makes it a site for expensive real estates. Australia’s first legal casino, the Wrest Point Hotel Casino, was opened here in 1973. Sandy Bay is bound by the Derwent River and the Nutgrove Beach.
