Rockhampton Campus, CQU
CQU’s main campus and administrative center, the Rockhampton campus aims to provide quality education alongside the community through re-development of historic buildings to complement the campus. It has state-of-the-art multimedia labs, wireless networking and high-tech lecture theaters. Other services won’t be a problem as well since post offices, ATM machines and fitness centers are also found within campus.
The main campus is also home to Capricornia College Rockhampton which provides its students with nice accommodation, ample facilities as well as scholarships for $1000 a year.
Capricornia College offers accommodation to 320 male and female students in residential houses. Each student is provided with a desk, bed, wardrobe, fan, bookcase and curtains. Rooms are fly screened and fully carpeted for their convenience. Phones are available for each room and a communal bathroom is used for each residence.

Known as the Beef Capital of Australia and home to 60,000 residents, Rockhampton lies 633 kms north of Brisbane. It is easily accessible through rail and air routes and is also Central Queensland’s agriculture and mining center. Apart from its bustling industries, Rockhampton also gave birth to a lot of famous performers and musicians. Its emphasis on the importance of culture gave rise to a number of theaters, art galleries and museums around the city. There are also zoos as well as botanical gardens for the more nature-inclined.
Rockhampton experiences typical sub-tropical climate with summer rains and mild sunny winters.
