Northam Campus, Curtin University
During 1926, the 1,738 hectare Muresk Farm was opened as a teaching facility. It is located 90 kms east of Perth and is guaranteed to provide its students with ample hands-on experience and a chance to work on real-life problems in a commercial farm. The Northam campus specializes in agribusiness, biosciences, environmental biology.
It has modern lecture halls, a swimming pool, computer laboratories and offers self-catered accommodation for 150 students.

The largest inland town not founded by mining, Northam is located in the Avon Valley, 97 kms north-east of Perth. Northam used to be a site for camps set-up by displaced people and immigrants from Europe during the 1950s. People in Northam also give special importance to sports. It has a significant number of football players, cricket, netball andhockey players. Apart from these, a lot of events are also being held here. The Northam Flying 50’s, for example, is a historic car event which gathers 5,000 spectators annually. There’s also the Avon Descent and the Kep Ultra Running Race to watch out for.
