Mackay Campus – CQU
Central Queensland University’s Mackay Campus is suited generally suited for all people who wants to get an education whether for a school leaver, an adult learner, or a professional wanting to further enhance his career. CQUniversity Mackay has a lot of study programs available to serve one’s benefit in the future. The university offers full time study programs for full time students and it also supports flexible study options for those with other fields of endeavors.
Students may choose between the different undergraduate and postgraduate programs available that includes Built Environment and Design, Business, Accounting and Law, Education, Engineering, Mining and Technology, Health and Medical Sciences, Humanities, Psychology and Social Work, Multimedia and Information Technology, Music and Theatre and Science and Environment.
In-campus facilities are available for students which includes lecture theatres, performance theatre, tutorial rooms, computer laboratories, a nursing laboratory, video-conference rooms, recording studios, bookshop, refectory, library and more.
Just recently, the campus opened the University’s $4 million Medical and Applied Sciences laboratory to serve as a training ground for health professionals like radiographers and sonographers.
CQUniversity Mackay offers student accommodation through the Mackay Student Residential Accommodation. The facility provides students with a great environment to live and learn. It serves as an academic residential community of the students of Mackay campus.
Mackay is situated on the Central Queensland coast, about 1,000 north of Brisbane and is a home to more than 90,000 people. The region has a subtropical weather and is within easy access to unspoilt beaches, scenic rainforests and the Whitsunday Islands. The city’s economy is dependent on a diverse industry of coal, sugar and tourism, with coal being the largest contributor to the economy.
