Gladstone Campus – CQU
The Gladstone Campus of Central Queensland University is located at the Gladstone Marina. The campus provides a wide range of study programs that include Bridging Courses, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research Degrees. Two of CQUniversity’s largest research centers, the Process Engineering and Light Metals Centre and the Centre for Environmental Management, can be found in Gladstone Campus.
CQUniversity in partnership with the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations is currently undertaking the Pathways project to facilitate seamless and successful career pathways for people within the Central Queensland Region in the field of mining and engineering. The Industrial Engineering team of the Pathways project is in Gladstone Campus.
To provide an appealing environment for learning and research, the campus is equipped with facilities that enriches one’s learning experience. The library is equipped with quiet study rooms and online access. High-tech videoconferencing and access grid facilities are also available. The lecture theatres feature the latest presentation equipment. The whole campus is covered by wireless networking.
There is no on-campus accommodation available in Gladstone Campus. The Student Association provides free referral assistance for finding accommodation.
Gladstone can be found 500 km north of Brisbane, in a unique region of Australia that successfully supports both tourism and major industries. National parks, islands, pristine beaches and the Great Barrier Reef attracts tourists to the city while natural resources including coal, oil shale, salt, limestone, silica sands and mineral sands keep the industries booming.
The Gladstone region has an estimated population of 63,000 living within 128 square kilometers of land.
